Accessibility statement

Last updated: 03/10/2026

Our aim

We want everyone to be able to use this site. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, the international standard for accessible websites. At the moment the site partly meets it: the known problems are listed below.

What we do

  • Every page is checked automatically for accessibility problems, in light and dark mode, before any change goes live.
  • You can use the site with a keyboard, and you can see where you are as you move through it, apart from the problems listed below.
  • Text is real text, images that carry meaning have descriptions, and you can resize text to 200% without losing content.
  • You can choose light or dark, or follow your device setting.

What we have and have not tested

Automated checks run on every page, in light and dark mode, on every change. Keyboard use has been checked with automated browser tests. We have checked Windows high contrast mode only by simulating it in a browser, not on a real Windows computer. We have not yet tested the site with a screen reader.

Known problems

  • In dark mode on phones, the small "About" label at the top of the About page does not have enough contrast.
  • If you increase letter, word and line spacing on a narrow phone screen, the Menu button can be pushed off the screen.
  • In Windows high contrast mode, the social media icons in the footer are hard to see. The links still work and are named for screen readers.
  • After you choose Apps from the phone menu, or widen the window while the menu is open, keyboard focus does not move to a sensible place.
  • If a page fails to load because of an error on our side and JavaScript is switched off, you see a blank page instead of an error message.

We plan to fix these, and we will update this list when we do.
